We are excited to be offering an opportunity for an Apprentice Site Manager to join us on a brand-new construction project in Exeter. This is your chance to see a project come to life from start to finish, giving you invaluable experience and laying a solid foundation for your career in construction.
Whilst working for us, you would also study towards a degree in Civil Engineering, giving you the ideal balance between learning the theory of construction and taking on real-life responsibility on site.

What You’ll Need:
You will need to have one of the below (or equivalent level qualification):
- T-levels – Distinction
- BTEC – Extended Diploma Distinction (Distinction, Distinction Merit)
- Standard BTEC + Maths A-Level (grade B)
- A-levels – ABB (incl. B in Maths/Science)
- L3 apprenticeship if qualification equiv. to 3 A-Levels.
What You'll Do:
- Assist the site manager in keeping the project on track according to the contract program.
- Oversee parts of the work to ensure safe execution, as directed.
- Attend site meetings when needed.
- Provide updates for Progress Reports if requested.
- Help the Site Manager with Inspection and Test Plans and make sure they meet the requirements.
- Ensure all work follows the latest information.
- Monitor and report any work/materials not meeting the required standards to the Site Manager.
- Get to know and follow the Company Health and Safety Policy.

Civil Engineering Senior Technician apprenticeship (Leading to Level 6 Civil Engineer (degree) apprenticeship)
Our professional apprenticeship programme has been developed to ensure you are supported throughout every step of your journey, combining work-based experience with off-the-job training. You will be stretched, challenged and supported by a business that views your professional development and formal qualification as a priority.
Our programme will provide a fully funded day or block release Level 4 (HNC) and/or Level 6 (degree) apprenticeship in your chosen vocation, while working as a full time Laing O’Rourke employee. It will also include a series of bespoke development modules, and technical training opportunities, strategically placed to support you at key stages of your apprenticeship journey. Diagnostic Radiographer Degree Apprentice (MSc)
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Radiology Team as a Diagnostic Radiographer Apprentice via the MSc route.
The training will involve a 2 year programme with the University of Exeter whilst completing all practical aspects with us at NDDH as our employee; on completion you will hold a MSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging and will qualify as a band 5 radiographer.
The post holder will need to have knowledge of working within the healthcare environment, they will demonstrate organisation, initiative and flexible-thinking, an ability to learn and work in a team, and enjoy a challenge. You must also be able to work a typical roster pattern including out of hours shifts and weekends.
The post holder must be willing and able to undertake the necessary training required to complete the course. This is a fast track entry route completing the course in 2 years instead of 3 and so there will be a lot of training and study at Masters level.
You will be required to have:
- A Batchelor degree in either Science (BSc) or Engineering (BEng) at a 2:1 grade or above
- IT skills
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be compliant with all mandatory training requirements
- Be able to commit to fully attending the academic blocks (1 block of 3-5 days per annum plus odd extra days) and modules required

Paid annex 21 - 70% of top of band 5 in year one and 75% of top band 5 in year two. Progressing fully to Band 5 on completion.
